Queen Bee Electrolysis Welcomes King Electrolysis!
Electrolysis is the only permanent hair removal method. At the moment, it’s the only path to take, if you want hair gone for a life time.
Electrolysis can treat, and is safe for all colors of skin and hair.
Laser hair removal is a long-term hair reduction method that lasts for about 2-5 years on average. Up to 90% hair growth reduction can be expected. But also as low as 45% growth reduction.
For some Laser or IPL treatments can lead to more hair in the area. This unwanted side effect is called paradoxical hypertrichosis.
Laser is not safe for all skin colors. Laser does not work on light colored hair.
How Electrolysis Works
A fine probe is inserted into each individual hair follicle. Heat or Electricity or both are sent to the papilla in order to permanently destroy it. The treatment makes the follicle incapable of producing any more hair.
I’m sure that you’ve already guessed that it’s also a investment in time. Some clients have sessions for years. It’s a demanding procedure because each follicle must be treated individually.
How long does it take?
Recognizing that everyone is an individual, and it also depends on the area being treated. An average being 18 months, depending on the clients needs. After that, you’re going to have a lifetime of silky smooth skin. It’s completely worth it, from my point of view. Each session lasts between 15 minutes up to an hour. In the beginning, the sessions might be weekly, gradually advancing to monthly sessions.
Once these sessions are done, that’s it. There’s no more need for shaving, waxing, laser hair removal, epilation or hair removal creams. Nothing but smooth skin.
Everyone can benefit from the awesome results that this method brings. It doesn’t matter what color your skin, or hair is. The same thing cannot be said about laser hair removal.
How Laser Hair Removal Works
Laser only works on people with light skin and dark hair. The darker the hair the better. If you don’t fit into this category, don’t do it. Serious burns can occur. Pulses of laser light are used to go after the dark pigment in the hair. This treatment does not always reach the papilla, the follicle is not permanently destroyed and that’s the main difference in the electrolysis vs laser hair removal battle. The follicle is only stopped from producing hairs for a certain amount of time, the average period being 2 years.
Laser only treats pigment, this is why it is not recommended for olive or darker skin. This is also the reason it cannot treat gray or lighter colors of hair.
Laser sessions are fewer, because multiple hairs are treated at once. The average time is up to 30 minutes per leg, 10 minutes for the underarms and around 8 minutes for the bikini area. An average of 6-12 laser sessions are recommended plus maintenance.
Electrolysis vs Laser Hair Removal: Which Method Hurts
When taking the pain factor into consideration in the electrolysis vs laser hair removal comparison, this again depends on the individual, and the area being treated. Everyone's pain tolerance is different.
